Siemens Microinverters

Siemens Microinverters are the ideal solution for inverting Solar PV power from direct current (DC) to utility compatible alternating current (AC) in residential and commercial applications.  With the Siemens system, each solar module is inverted independently, improving overall performance.  The system is efficient, simple, scalable, safe and is accompanied by the most advanced monitoring in the solar industry. Siemens Microinverters are incredibly versatile and can be used in a variety of applications.  Click on the following links to learn more on Microinverters in Residential, Commercial and Campus installation.

Higher Energy Harvest

By inverting each module independently, the Siemens Microinverter System avoids shading and exposure problems that plague traditional string inverter systems.  Using Siemens Microinverters can yield an additional 5-20% energy production, depending on the installation. This increased harvest means either fewer modules can be used to produce the same power, saving upfront money, or more energy can be produced, improving payback over time.

Trunk and Drop Cable System

The all new Trunk and Drop system provides a fast and simple connection to AC wiring, and eliminates multiple balances of system components.  Each inverter is equipped with either an MC-4 or Tyco connector (to match module output) and a Trunk and Drop connection.

Scalable Platform

Since each module operates independently, the Siemens Microinverter System can be scaled to any size installation, from 200 W to several dozen kW. In addition, the modular system makes adding additional modules to an existing system quite simple. This represents a huge opportunity for installation in phases, or offering solar as an upgrade on new construction.

Monitoring

The Envoy ethernet gateway and Enlighten monitoring service give a real time, per module view of power output, up-time, efficiency and other important measures. Since the Enlighten system works at each panel, it is very easy to monitor and maintain modules, rather than having the limited view of overall production, which a string inversion system is restricted to. The Enlighten system is smart phone compatible, so all of these features are available on the go.

Safety

Traditional string inverter systems carry up to 600 Volts of DC power, which presents a danger, both in the level of voltage, and the fact that it is DC power. Siemens Microinverter Systems are primarily AC, and even in the small portion that is DC, coming from the module, never exceeds 60 V.  This, in combination with industry required anti-islanding (grid isolation in a power outage) and Siemens circuit protection make this the safest solar energy option on the market.

Warranty

Siemens Industry, Low Voltage is pleased to announce a warranty extension for the line of Siemens Solar Microinverters.  This is designed to be used in conjunction with solar modules that have a usable life of between 20 and 25 years, so the warranty on the inverter has been extended to match that time frame, and is now honored for 25 years.  Please see the full Limited Warranty document for details and restrictions.  This change is effective for all applicable Siemens Microinverters, even if they are already sold and installed.
