 | If your rectifier looks like this, and it doesn't perform much better, now is the time to look into a rebuild. This is the story of an actual rebuild performed by the Mining Team at Siemens. The rebuild took place at our Alpharetta, GA facility. We also have the capability of performing onsite retrofits. |
 | Cabinet corners were weakened, and the cracks in the casing meant the rectifier was showing its age. Not only was it falling apart because of the massive vibration that it was subjected to at the mine, but the vibration and the dirt that had accumulated over time affected the performance of the rectifier. Our customer made the decision to extend the life of their old rectifier. This wasn't just a facelift, but a true transformation as we brought the performance back to original levels. |

 | We applied a little TLC...some repair welding and corner braces. This makes the cabinet stronger. And a stronger cabinet is a safer cabinet. |
 |  | And welded corner gussets gave thecabinet added strength. |
 | But the cabinet wasn't the only thing that we looked at during the retrofit. When we were done with the cabinet, we tackled the rectifier blocks, too.

 | First, we disassembled the blocks and got rid of the bad parts. As you can see from the "before" pictures below, the rectifier had several issues which affected its ability to run properly. |
 | We cleaned, replaced damaged parts, and got everything back in tip-top shape. When the retrofit was finished, the recifier was strong, and running at least as well as it ran when it was new. Maybe even better. Our retrofit team created a nice, new finished product that looks better, runs better, and is safer than the old version. And we did it at a fraction of the cost of purchasing a completely new unit. |
