Safety Educational Roadshows Success Leads To Additional Learning Opportunities

ATLANTA —  After the successful completion of its innovative learning experience SAFETY: Uncover the Competitive Advantage, Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. announced today that it will launch a follow-up educational initiative. At the heart of this initiative is a new series of subject-specific safety webinars, hosted by industry experts featured in the safety movie.  Additionally, local educational and technology seminars as well as more in-depth training courses will be offered to give end-users more detailed, hands-on knowledge about key safety topics.

“Siemens asserted its industry leadership in safety education with the groundbreaking 45-minute movie, Safety: Uncover The Competitive Advantage, which provided an overview of major safety topics,”   said Raj Batra, Vice President, Siemens Energy and Automation. “Feedback from the attendees indicated that they were not only extremely interested in the safety information presented, but also that they wanted more detailed information on key topics to help them understand and benefit from the changing safety landscape. In response, Siemens has developed additional educational initiatives to meet this need for information.”

A series of free safety webinars are scheduled to begin May 24, 2007, and will run for the next four months. Topics include risk assessment, U.S. and international safety standards and new safety technology. The webinars will offer attendees a unique opportunity to understand and benefit from changing industry safety standards, controlling costs through risk mitigation, and improving productivity by incorporating safety and safety technology in to the design process.  For webinar descriptions and registration, visit:

In addition to the webinars, a series of local 2-hour safety seminars are scheduled to occur across the country. For those who have a fundamental-to-good understanding of safety basics, these events will provide a progressively more detailed look into safety issues and how machine safety can be turned into a real competitive advantage. Certification-based training opportunities will be provided in centralized locations.

During the original safety educational roadshow, over 3,000 engineers and members of management from a wide variety of industry segments attended the safety events.  Held in local theaters in 45 cities across the U.S., each event was highlighted by a full-screen, high definition movie production that featured a variety of industry experts and leading safety companies.

“I found the safety event I attended in Philadelphia very educational,” said Greg Richards with Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products in Reading, Pennsylvania.  “While safety is already of utmost importance at Quadrant, the topics covered raised my awareness on the latest safety standards and technologies in the U.S. – and how we could further benefit from them. An additional plus was the ability to network with Safety industry leaders from Siemens, Exida, RWD and other customers that attended the event.”
