Siemens Introduces ESP200 Overload Relays

ATLANTA — Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. has introduced the new line of self-powered ESP200TM Overload Relays for industrial and construction applications that replaces the ESP100 Overload Relay. Building on the success of Siemens NEMA starters with overload protection found in millions of motors, the new overload relay line is designed to reliably operate in the most demanding environments.

Easily configured without software or manuals, the new ESP200 line delivers unmatched repeat accuracy of 99 percent. Versatile by design, the ESP200 takes the guess work out of meeting numerous overload protection requirements. Field selectable Trip Class 5, 10, 20 or 30 can easily be set by two DIP-switches and the FLA dial allows for a wide adjustment range (4:1).  This simple and versatile configuration enables companies to reduce overload relay inventories by up to 40 percent.

Ideal for oil pumping, agriculture and other applications where continuous motor operation is essential, the ESP200 line is available with automatic and remote reset features.

The easy to use relays are DIN rail mounted and feature removable terminals for fast change out without removing control wiring. Additionally, a visible trip indicator quickly allows operators to identify overloads.

Touch-safe terminals help prevent accidental exposure to live circuits. UL listed and CSA certified according to the strictest standards, the ESP200 line offers ground fault protection that trips at 60 percent of motor current, thereby protecting motors from high resistance short circuits or ground faults due to moisture, condensation or insulation damage.
