The NEW ERTEC 200 PN IO Starter Kit
Overview
The ERTEC 200 PN IO Starter Kit is an addition to our existing product portfolio of PROFINET IO Device Development Kits and is particularly suitable for first-time users of the PROFINET and ERTEC technology.
The starter kit can be used to develop and test PROFINET hardware and software for PROFINET IO Device applications with the ERTEC 200 ASIC.
Development Environment
The ERTEC 200 PN IO Starter Kit comes with everything you need – An evaluation board, ERTEC samples, cables, JTAG debugger, PN IO software stack, development environment, eCos OS and documentation.
Included Components
The Starter Kit consists of the following components:
Hardware
(1) Evaluation Board 200
The development and test environment for a quick start and as the basis for your PROFINET IO device development.
(2) Power supply
A plug-in power supply unit is included.
(3) Hardware Debugger
A JTAG USB Debugger is included for efficient debugging.
(4) Serial Cable
Serial cable for terminal connection.
(5) PROFINET cable / connectors
The Starter Kit contains 1x 5m PROFINET cable, 2x Fast-Connect connectors and a Stripping Tool for easy assembly of a PROFINET cable.
(6) ERTEC ASIC samples
For building your prototype, 5 ERTEC 200 chips are included in the package.
Software
(7) CD "SK-ERTEC 200 PN IO for eCos V3.1":
The PROFINET IO Device Stack including application examples in source code. All development tools required for the license-free development of PN IO Devices are included on the CD.
(8) SIMATIC NET CD "IE SOFTNET PN IO 2008":
Incl. PC-based PN IO Controller and "NCM PC" engineering tool for operation under Windows XP.
Documentation
(9) Book “Industrial Communication with PROFINET”.
Comprehensive documentation material is available on the CD "SK-ERTEC 200 PN IO for eCos V3.1".
The newly created guideline saves you valuable time, especially during the startup phase.

The ERTEC 200 PN IO V3.1 Starter Kit and the included application examples use the following Operating System:
Please note: The PROFINET IO Device Stack is supplied in source code so that it can be ported to other operating systems and platforms.
Licenses: No-Risk Development
The ERTEC 200 PN IO V3.1 Starter Kit includes a development license that authorizes the user to develop and test PROFINET IO devices on the basis of the ERTEC 200.
After the development has been concluded successfully and the certification process was passed, a product line license is required for series production for each product line.
